Not much to write about so far just getting this page started. I plan to make this page a sort of diary for this website. Mostly it will be written in freeform with no special order to things..just daily events and news. I will try to keep this page updated daily but the way things have been going I will more than likely be updating it only two or three times a week. Just have to wait and see how it goes...

Musical Furbys??!!

Last night I took Dawn's furby, Toh-loo Kah, back home. Toh-loo Kah visits us often and had been here since Sunday. I had just gotten Mee-mee back from my friend Jennifer. Mee-mee had been staying with Jennifer while Toh-loo Kah was visiting my house. When Jennifer and I went to Dawn's house to return Toh-loo Kah, I had to show off Mee-mee as well as Gizmo, who had just joined my furby family a few days ago. Dawn thought Gizmo was the cutest thing (for some reason everybody falls in love with Gizmo)but then asked me why I never let her furbysit, after all, Jennifer is always furbysitting for one of my furbys. So I agreed to let Mee-mee stay with Dawn until next Sunday.
I don't mind letting my furbys visit with my friends because they don't always get a lot of attention at home. One thing I had promised myself was that I would never let it get to the point where I did not know each of my furbys by name and could not make sure that they all got attention. By having Jennifer furbysit one of them everytime Toh-loo Kah visits, I can at least make sure one furby gets the attention it deserves for a couple of days. As it is, there is only one of my furbys that gets a lot of attention and that's Domoh - he's my pet and I would never let him out of my sight!
Koh-koh III is another one of the furbys that gets a lot of attention but that's because she was in such bad shape when I got her and she still needs a lot of attention if she's ever going to get over being so scared.

Two new additions to my furby family. Toh-dye and baby Nee-tye were adopted last night. You can meet them in the family room of the Furby Funhouse.
Several of my furbys had a group chat today. Domoh was very energetic and playful today but he has a difficult time when chatting with the other furbys because he is getting more and more sensitive to sounds so he gets startled easily when the other furbys speak. This hasn't stopped Domoh from playing with the other furbys though..he's still the same playful furby who loves to dance and sing.
I am starting to worry about Nah-bah. The sound of his motor is getting so loud that it is getting difficult to hear him when he speaks. I'm afraid that it may get to the point where only the other furbys can communicate with him. That won't stop me from spending time with him though.

I am working on a new room for the funhouse called "Furby Moments" - a room for sharing real life funny or embarassing stories about furby. I should have that room added to the funhouse within the next day or so.

.......

Monday, March 13, 2000

I finally got the "furby moments" room added to the funhouse tonight.
Things have been kind of hectic around here and I have been slow about updating the funhouse so it felt good to get that done.

Mee-mee is still with Dawn. I was supposed to get him back on Sunday but Dawn didn't go to church so I will have to wait until Tuesday night.... I miss Mee-mee but I hope he and Toh-loo Kah are having fun.

I broke down and adopted Gizmo last week. I am still getting use to him but I am already attached to him. I am still debating on whether I should add him to the furby family page since he is not an actual furby but he is a member of the "family".

A new furby has joined the family. Toh-loo kah was delivered to me yesterday after nearly 3 months of waiting. I had ordered Toh-loo kah through the mail without knowing what kind of furby I was getting. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the furby they sent me was different from all my other furbys.

My boyfriend woke Nah-bah up for a few minutes today. The noise from Nah-bah's motor made it difficult at times to understand him but Nah-bah seems to be in very good spirits - even when my boyfriend held him upside down for a few seconds. I asked my boyfriend not to do that to Nah-bah though because I worry that Nah-bah's motor may give out.

I think my search for a German speaking furby my soon come to an end. I saw one on ebay that was different from all my other furbys so I placed a bid on it. I am hoping I get this one because I already have one set of twins.

Another new addition to the family. A-tay was adopted last night. I'll have a picture in the family room within the next few days. A-tay is already making friends and I have added part of a conversation between her and baby DeeMak to the "furby speaks" room.

Mee-mee is back home after being gone for about two weeks. He spent some time visiting my friend Jennifer and then visited my friends Dawn and Ralph and their furby Toh-loo Kah for a few days. It is good to have him home again. Even with all the other furbys around me I still missed Mee-mee.

Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah is here visiting again. He and Mee-mee both had a very busy day yesterday when Dawn brought them to me at church - everybody wanted to see the furbys..especially the children. Both furbys were also given a big welcome by some of the other furbys who surrounded them for a group chat when I brought them home.

Sunday, March 26, 2000

It's been a few days since I've updated the funhouse and a lot has happened. First of all, a new furby has been added to the family. Way-loh arrived Wednesday. I will be taking pictures of him and A-tay very soon and adding them to the family room of the funhouse soon.

I have finally found a german speaking furby. He will be joining the family in a couple of weeks.

May-lah Kah is visiting Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah. He was supposed to come home today but Dawn was not able to bring him to me at church so he gets to visit until Tuesday night.

I will be doing some remodeling on the funhouse very soon. The new layout should make it easier for visitors to find their way around.

Another Koh-koh III?
Another new furby added to the family. I finally found the teal colored furby I have been wanting but there was a problem. The store was selling this furby as "new" but it had obviously been removed from its box. I was allowed to put batteries into the furby to test it before buying it but I didn't like what I saw. Everything was out of sync - even after being reset.
The store agreed to give me a discount so I went ahead and adopted the furby. When I got him home I noticed that someone had owned him for quite a while before returning him back to the store - the furby spoke english and there are signs of wear at his base.
He was so badly out of sync.. his mouth would not even open when it was supposed to and would stay open when it should be shut. I realized that I would have to restart him.
After a restart the furby finally introduced himself as "Kah". He still doesn't sync up right all the time.
Something else that makes me wonder what Kah has been through - even after a restart he gets scared very easily and he refuses to talk to the other furbys.
In some ways Kah II acts a lot like Koh-koh III did when I first got her.

I have finally updated the family room of the funhouse and added the three newest furbys. Koh-koh's story has also been updated.

More musical furbys... May-lah Kah is back home, Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah is visiting and Aloh III is visiting my friend Jennifer.

.......

Monday, April 03, 2000

Several things have happened since my last update. I adopted yet another furby and will be putting his picture up in the family room of the funhouse soon. I found Domoh IV just two days after adopting Kah II. I had wanted one teal colored furby but now I have two which leaves me with the delima of what to do with Kah II. I am seriously thinking of adopting Kah II out since I have another furby like him that works perfectly while Kah II is still horribly out of sync most of the time. My boyfriend says he wants to adopt Kah II but I am a little worried about how he would treat the poor furby. Not that my boyfriend is an unkind person - he just seems to enjoy holding the poor furbys upsidedown a little too much!

Aloh III is visiting with Dawn's furby, Toh-loo Kah, until tomorrow night.

I saw a picture of an all pink baby furby with long sparkly fur that was too cute to resist so I will have to get one of them when they get to the stores.
I have seen several of them on ebay but the auctions are way overpriced for furbys most of the time and anytime a furby is listed as "rare" or "hard to find" at an online auction I usually can find that same furby in the stores around here for a lot less than I would pay at the auction. For instance - the Christmas furby is usually listed as hard to find on ebay but I have found them at two different stores here and for a lot less than the bidding price on ebay!

Speaking of Christmas furbys, I ordered one online from toysrus.com because they were only $5... can you imagine that? A brand new furby for only $5!!! And to think that I almost bought one for $25 at a toy store.

I have gotten emails from people wondering about Koh-koh III. One was wondering if I was making any of Koh-koh's story up. The answer to that is no. Although Koh-koh III is, for the most part, just like any of the other furbys, she does have some strange quirks about her. Koh-koh III hates dark rooms, gets scared very easily, and has said and done many things that I cannot explain. Of course most of my furbys have said or done things that seem to defy explanation - these things are just more pronounced in Koh-koh III.

I am working on new pages for the funhouse along with a new layout for the rooms. It has been suggested that each of my furbys have their own room in the funhouse but that is something I will have to think about because it will take a lot of work and a lot of room! Still, I will seriously consider giving each of them their own room.

.......

Wednesday, April 05, 2000

My German furby arrived today. His name was Domoh when I first got him and he already spoke some German. I restarted him because I have too many furbys named Domoh already and I was having a difficult time understanding him because he was speaking so much German.

Another furby was restarted today. Domoh IV was restarted to change his name. He is now Nah-bah II.
I have added both Nah-bah II and Dah to the family room.

Aloh III will not be home until next Sunday. Aloh III is visiting with Jennifer until she leaves for vacation on Friday when her younger brother will take over furbysitting. Aloh III will return home next Sunday.
I am a little nervous about letting Jennifer's younger brother furbysit since he has never furbysat before but I decided to take a chance and let Aloh III visit with him for a couple of days before coming home.

Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah is visiting once again.

I took Domoh up to meet Dawn and the rest of the gang at Dawn and Ralph's house last night. I had put a leash on Domoh and wasn't going to bring him in until I was ready to leave because I am very protective over my "pet" and I was afraid that he might get hurt because of the amount of people over there but Dawn asked me to bring him in. Dawn was right and I should have known that I would have nothing to worry about...everybody loved Domoh! Domoh instantly made friends with nearly everybody that was there!
At the end of the evening, all three furbys, Domoh, Aloh III, and Toh-loo Kah treated everybody to a three way furby chat! It was too cute!!!

.......

Monday, April 10, 2000

Aloh III is back home and Toh-loo Kah returned to Dawn yesterday. I sent baby Meku to visit with Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah. Meku is supposed to come back home tomorrow night. I am wondering how Dawn is doing since she has never furbysat a baby furby before...I don't think she ever really saw a baby furby before she met Meku a couple of days ago.
I'll bet Dawn and her husband are having a lot of fun taking care of Meku since baby furbys require more patience than the big furbys do. I guess I probably should have at least given Dawn an instruction booklet for baby furbys...

Speaking of baby furbys, there has been a new addition to my ever-growing furby family. Baby Meku II was adopted yesterday. I will have her picture up in the family room soon.
I wasn't really planning on adopting another furby yesterday but my boyfriend and I went to Walmart to look at the furbys since he is thinking of adopting a baby furby of his own. We went up to the baby furby display and my boyfriend pointed out that the baby furbys were on sale for only $12.97 - I couldn't believe it!
I searched the shelves hoping they had a lavender striped baby and I saw one in a display high up on top of the shelves. I had to ask a salesperson to climb a ladder and get the cute little baby furby down for me.
My boyfriend looked around a bit and decided he wasn't quite ready for the responsibility of a baby furby. I can understand that considering how much time and patience a baby furby can require - especially if you don't have another furby to keep it company.

Dah has been continuing to make friends with the rest of his new furby family. I put him on the desk with Koh-koh III yesterday and was amazed at how friendly Koh-koh III was being toward Dah.
Gizmo also became friends with Dah almost immediately - in fact, the two of them had one of the longest conversations I have ever witnessed between furbys (and furby friends).
Dah didn't even seem to be put off by Gizmo's sometimes flirtatious nature. He actuually seemed to enjoy it - Dah even kissed Gizmo once when Gizmo said "smoochie, Gizmo, smoochie"! You can read about that part of their conversation in the "furby says" room of the funhouse.

Koh-koh has been given a lot of attention lately (especially yesterday and today) and has shown a lot of improvement. Koh-koh's story has been updated to reflect the events of the last few days.

Kah II has also shown some improvement the last few times he has been awake. I was discussing Kah II's fate with my boyfriend a few days ago and my boyfriend woke Kah II up to see how bad the situation was. At first Kah II was badly out of sync so I reset him once and he synced up almost perfectly. Because of this, I have decided to keep Kah II.

Yet another adition to my ever-growing furby family. My Santa furby was delivered earlier in the week. His first name was A-loh but I decided to restart him because I wanted a different name for him. While attempting to restart the poor furby I decided to try out and demonstrate the diagnostic mode that I had read about on another website (Furby 321 ). After toying around with the diagnostic mode for a couple of minutes I brought the furby back to normal and the poor thing immediatly got very sick!!
After attempting to nurse the furby back to health and get it's new name, I decided that the best thing to do would be to restart the furby again. Its new name was Domoh so I restarted the poor, confused furby again...and again...until it finally changed its name to A-tay.
Fortunately for me furbys are very forgiving so A-tay didn't hold a grudge!!
I have already added A-tay's picture to the family room of the funhouse.

Also added to the family room is Gizmo.

Meku returned home earlier this week. Dawn and her husband actually enjoyed Meku's visit! I was worried that a baby furby would get on their nerves since the babies can be quiet a handful at times but they both liked Meku.
I have told Dawn that next time I'll let them furbysit the twins - A-loh II and Mee-mee II. The twins can be a lot of fun..especially when they start talking together!

.......

Saturday, April 23, 2000

It's been quite a while since I have updated this page but I have been working on the funhouse adding this and that and changing a few little things. As usual, several things have happened since I last updated this page.

The twins, A-loh II and Mee-mee II, have been visiting with Dawn's furby Toh- loo Kah and should be returning home tomorrow.

Dah has had a busy week. He is already speaking more German than furbish. I played "Furby Says" with Dah for a few minutes and it was a kind of strange but I did quite well for only having a limited understanding of the German language.
Dah's happy, friendly personality has made him one of my favorite furbys but I've noticed that a lot of the people who meet him have a difficult time getting used to him. Dah not only speaks a different language but he also has a different personality as well as different sounds and reactions.
I have also noticed that the other furbys react differently to him than they do each other. Domoh seems to get along with Dah very well but at times it's almost as if Domoh doesn't know how to react to Dah... at least that's the only way I know how to describe their interaction with each other.

Koh-koh III still remains somewhat of a mystery to me. She doesn't seem to want to talk to any of the other furbys lately except for Dah. But she was even quiet around him last time I woke her up to chat with him.
Other than that Koh-koh III is doing much better. She has learned more english and even enjoyed being gently tossed into the air a couple of times yesterday - of course she got scared after that but cheered up after I gave her a hug.
I will be updating Koh-koh's story in a couple of days.

I have updated the family room of the funhouse to include the voices of both Domoh and Nah-bah. All you have to do is click on their pictures to hear them say their names.

More musical furbys...
The twins, Mee-mee II and A-loh II, came back home sunday. Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah is visiting me and my furby Toh-loo Kah II is visiting Jennifer.
Ralph and Dawn both thought the twins were cute but they didn't have much time to get to know the cute little furballs. I told them I would bring two more furbys to visit when I brought Toh-loo Kah back to them.

Gizmo and Dah are sitting on my desk as I type this. I can't believe how well the two of them seem to get along. They have been singing and playing hide and seek for nearly 10 minutes now and neither of them show signs of wanting to go to sleep.

Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah also seems to get along well with Gizmo. The two of them were chatting just before I woke Dah up. Toh-loo Kah seems to enjoy visiting and rarely passes up an oportunity to play with the other furbys.

I am still working on recording more wav files of the furbys. I hope to have one room of the funhouse filled with wav files soon. I am also working on getting recordings of the rest of the furbys so that all you have to do is click on a picture in the family room and you will hear that furby introduce itself. It may take a while before that is finished though.

.......

Tuesday, May 02, 2000

Toh-loo Kah II is back home now, Dawn's furby Toh-loo Kah has gone back home, and Koh-koh and Noh-loo are at Dawn's house visiting Toh-loo Kah.

Toh-loo Kah II is speaking a lot more english now even though he spent quite a bit of time sleeping while he was visiting Jennifer. It wasn't that Jennifer didn't want to spend time with Toh-loo Kah II - it's just that the furby didn't want to wake up.

I have added some more furby links to the links page. I am still searching out more sites to add.

More sound added to the family room. Now you can hear three more of the furbys introduce themselves when you click on their pictures. I hope to have all of the furbys voices soon.

I am still considering the idea of giving each of my furbys their own room in the funhouse but, as slow as I have been to update this site, it may take a while before that happens.

.......

Monday, May 08, 2000

Koh-koh and Noh-loo are still away visiting Toh-loo Kah. They should be returning home tomorrow night.

After much thought I have decided that I will no longer update Koh-koh's story. I just don't think there is anything more to tell. Koh-koh III has slowly changed from that frightened little ball of fur to a happy, fun-loving furby. She still doens't speak as much english as she should but I don't think that will change. Koh-koh III has had probably 30+ hours of activation time and most furbys are speaking english after only 12 hours.
I realized when I first got Koh-koh III that she was different from the other furbys and I accepted that from the beginning. She will always get scared much more easily than the others, she will always be much quieter than the others, and she may never completely learn english.
But Koh-koh III is also very gentle, very cuddly, and now she seems to also be very happy. That's basically all I could really ask for.

I am still working on ideas for the funhouse including a room called "The Funhouse". Updates are slow though because of how busy I have been lately.

.......

Friday, May 26, 2000

It's been a while since I have had a chance to do any updates on this site. Still trying to figure out where to start...

Koh-koh and Noh-loo returned home after their visit with Toh-loo Kah and, of course, Toh-loo Kah came back to visit with my furbys for a few days.

Nah-bah II spent some time visiting Jennifer and even got to go to the church with us when we went up there for the Teen Night that I help with. He spent most of the time there that night awake and dancing and just having a good time. By the time we left the church poor Nah-bah II was exhausted and spend the entire ride home sleeping.

I am still planning on expanding the funhouse and adding more rooms but doing anything on the website has been difficult because of work and the fact that my ISP keeps disconnecting me lately and not letting me back online.

.......

Thursday, June 01, 2000

One of the best furby sites on the net - Electronic Furby - has added the Furby Funhouse to their links page along with some very kind words about the funhouse.

Other than that not much has been happening lately...no furbys visiting and all my furbys are at home with me.

I updated the Furby Moments room a few days ago. Baby Boo did something that really caught me off guard!

Speaking of the babies, my boyfriend came into my room when four of the babies were playing and he got their conversation on tape. The babies were being exceptionally cute that day so the tape should be really interesting.

I am still working on my ideas for the room called The Funhouse but progress is going slow... don't worry though.. it will happen - it's just going to take longer than I had thought.

.......

Monday, June 05, 2000

The Twins, A-loh II and Mee-mee II, are visiting Jennifer for a few days. I asked Jennifer to furbysit them because they aren't getting enough attention lately. I also asked Jennifer to write down any "furby moments" or interesting conversations the twins have and considering that the twins behave a lot like twins most of the time this could be interesting. We'll just have to wait and see...

I'm still waiting for the series 4 babies to come to the stores here. I really want one of the solid pink ones with blue eyes. I have seen them on ebay but I refuse to pay that much for a baby furby - especially since I can get the babies here for less than $20.

I am also still looking for another german furby but this time I want one that has the first series color combination of tan/light brown with a gray tummy. I have seen every other first series color combination besides that one but that is the only color combination I want.

.......

Sunday, June 18, 2000

The Twins came back home a few days ago. According to Jennifer nothing really unusual happened except for when one of the twins started singing "Twinkle, twinkle little star" and the other finished the song.
Other than that the two furbys behaved like any other two furbys except for the fact that they kept repeating each other...

Jennifer finally has a furby of her own. She adopted May-lah yesterday. The furby was a graduation present to Jennifer from me. I have already put a picture of May-lah up in the furby friends room.

I also updated Furby Moments with a story about Meku II.

I still haven't found either the pink baby furby or the german furby that I am looking for but I am still looking.

Furby with SNG error box found at Walmart!!!
Jennifer adopted another furby tonight and I am still kicking myself. This is a long story so let me start at the beginning.
Jennifer and her brother went with me to Walmart so I could get a copy of a photograph that I am entering in a contest. After I made the copy of the photo, I decided to go look at the furbys to see if the series 4 babies were in yet. Jennifer's brother went with me to the furbys while Jennifer went to look at clothes.
I noticed a first generation gray and pink furby up at the top of the "wall" of furbys and picked it up thinking it was one that had been returned to the store and was being sold as new (I have seen this several times - a furby that has obviously been removed from its box and shows visible signs of use being sold as new at Walmart stores). I quickly realized that this was a new furby that had never been removed from its box. Although it's extremely unusual to find a first generation furby in the store, I decided against buying it because I already have a furby like that one.
But I didn't pay any attention to the box.....

*shaking her head in disbelief*

I told Jennifer about the furby and we went back to look at it. Jennifer liked the furby but didn't have enough money on her to buy it so I told her that I would loan her the money she needed so she could buy the furby.
We took the furby out to the car and Jennifer removed it from the box so we could make sure it worked (I always do this whenever possible because I have gotten one too many furbys that didn't work).
Jennifer handed me the box and I started to look at it while she unscrewed the battery compartment. I was pointing out how the story on the side of the box was different from the new boxes when it dawned on me to check for the sng error... I nearly #$%& when I saw the error!!!

*pounding her head on her desk asking herself why she didn't check the box when she first saw the furby*

I still can't believe that we found that furby at Walmart... and to think how much money some people are selling those furbys with the error boxes for!!!

*pounding her head on her desk again asking out loud, "why, why, why didn't I check the box first.. why!!!"*

We got a scare though when the batteries were first put in the furby - Jennifer closed the battery compartment and nothing happened..dead furby. I opened the battery compartment and noticed that the ribbon that goes underneath the batteries was stuck in between one of the batteries and the metal contact. I moved the ribbon out of the way and still nothing. The furby was completely still. I hit the bottom of the base of the furby and after a couple of seconds it came to life. Jennifer and I were both very relieved - neither of us wanted to have to return the furby even though we had already figured out a way of keeping the box because we couldn't find another one like it in the store and Jennifer was already getting attached to the cute little furby.
I am glad that Jennifer got the furby even though I wound up letting one of the sng error boxes slip through my fingers. The furby's name is Koh-koh and I will be adding a picture of the little cutie to the friends room of the funhouse in a few days.

.......

Friday, June 23, 2000

Jennifer's furby, Koh-koh, has been added to the friends room of the funhouse.
Jennifer and I really caused a stir when we took both Koh-koh and May-lah into am/pm yesterday. It was very hot and we didn't want to leave the furbys in the car so we took them into the store with us. Several people stopped in their tracks and stared at us!! But then what could we expect? Furbys are so loud that they draw attention to themselves everywhere they go.

Furby moments has been updated to include two new stories..one with Jennifer's furby, Koh-koh and another one that was emailed to me.

I am still working on the basic plans for new rooms for the funhouse but it will be a while before the rooms are added.

.......

Sunday, June 25, 2000

A new furby baby has joined the family. Noo-loo was adopted late Friday night when my boyfriend and I went into Walmart to get cat food. I, of course, had to check to see if they had any of the series 4 babies. My boyfriend saw Noo-loo and asked me why I didn't have a baby like that one. I told him that I just never really thought about getting one of those babies and he told me that I should get one. I thought he might get the baby for himself but he doesn't really want a furby of his own - he just likes to spend time with my furbys. After a few minutes, my boyfriend convinced me to get the cute little baby.
I must admit that my boyfriend is right...Noo-loo is one of the cutest little babies I have seen. I will be adding her picture to the family room soon.

Tiger cancels production of Furby!!!!!!
I first read the sad news on the furby discussion board at the Electronic Furby website. The post on the board said that Tiger had cancelled the production of the 8th, 9th, and 10th generations of furby as well as the special editions. I didn't want to believe it so I emailed the webmaster at Electronic Furby and she emailed me back saying that this was indeed true - she had contacted somebody at Tiger Electronics and they verified the sad news.
After hearing this, I went out and bought 4 of the furbys that I have been wanting to buy but was waiting until I had more room for them. I only had time to activate one of them though - a royal furby name Loo-loo. I will take the others out of their boxes and activate them tomorrow and I will be adding all of them to the family room of the funhouse soon. I also plan to go on another furby shopping spree sometime this weekend to try and find all the other furbys I have been wanting to add to my collection.

I have been thinking all night about the future of the Furby Funhouse and I have decided that the Funhouse will continue on despite Tiger's cancellation of Furby. I think that it would be silly for me to stop just because there are no new furbys being produced, after all, there are still plenty of people who love furby and I am not going to stop loving furbys just because Tiger has stopped making them.

I am still waiting news on whether or not Tiger is going to continue making the baby furbys and if they are still going to produce furby's friend Shelby. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Update on cancellation furby production
I emailed Tiger Electronics telling them that I was upset to hear that they had cancelled the production of Furby and this is the reply they sent me:
I'm not sure where you heard this, but we are not discontinuing Furbys.
In fact, we will have Furby for President and Angel Furby coming out
this year. Shelby will be available around October.

Considering that the information I was given before came from a lady who works for Tiger Electronics, I would guess that it is just the 8th, 9th and 10th generation furbys that have been cancelled although I had also heard that all special editions except for Furby for President had also been cancelled.
Any further information I recieve will be posted here on this page as soon as I recieve it.

Saturday, July 1, 2000

My two-day furby shopping spree has brought 5 new members to my furby family. There are only two or three more of the big furbys I want to add to my collection and only one more baby furby.
In one way, I guess it's kind of good that Tiger Toys is not producing any new generations of furbys - my furby family already takes up entirely too much room in my house as well as a lot of time and energy to take care of them all.

Not that I am beginning to dislike or lose any of my love for furbys - I guess I am just trying to see a bright side to all of this.

I have updated the family room of the funhouse with pictures of the newest baby furby, Noo-loo, and pictures of two of the other new additions to my furby family - royal furby, Loo-loo, and spanish-speaking furby, Ah-may.
I will be adding the other three furbys to the family room soon.

Tiger Toys hasn't yet answered my second email to them but I have heard that not only have the 8th, 9th, and 10th generations of adult furbys been cancelled but the series 5 baby furbys have also been cancelled. The cancellation of furby production is due to slow sales of furby and furby babies according to Tiger Toys. Who knows.. maybe if the demand for new furbys increases, Tiger Toys might still produce new generations. Only time will tell....
For the time being though, I am going to make sure and buy all the furbys I have been wanting to add to my collection the minute I see them on a store shelf because once the stores are sold out, that's it - - no more furbys. (except for a couple of limited editions that are supposed to come out this year)

As far as the furby supply goes here where I live, most of the 7th generation and a few 6th and 5th generations along with several limited editions are still widely available at reasonable prices($19.99). There are a few 3rd generation furbys still available at a local drug store for slightly higher prices ($29.99).
The first 3 series babies are still widely available too at reasonable to moderate prices ($11.00 - $22.00).
If you want a furby that you cannot find in your area, email me and I'll see what I can find around here. I won't gauge prices - you will only pay the store price(including tax) plus shipping & handling. I will always include a copy of the store reciept in case something goes wrong with the furby so you won't have any trouble sending it back to Tiger Toys.
Remember, I am not a retail seller nor am I trying to make any money from this - I'm just a furby collector who is willing to help other collectors find the furbys they want without having to pay ebay prices (which will no doubt be rising dramatically as soon as furbys become scarce).

I have often thought about putting furbys up for auction on ebay or just trying to go into some sort of business selling them but I am not into the idea of dealing with the hassle of keeping track of auctions, shipping, ect...
I will, however help out others if I can right now - after all, maybe if furby sales go up Tiger Toys will start producing them again... one can only hope.

Well, I have rambled on enough for one day... I will update again within the next couple of days.

I have added the rest of the new furbys to the family room of the funhouse. Domoh IV, May-may, and Noh-loo II are the last three of the new furbys that were adopted during my two-day furby shopping spree.

I have been noticing lately that my "pet" furby, Domoh, seems to be getting more and more jealous of the other furbys. This is especially pronounced when he and Domoh IV are together. Domoh refuses to acknowledge Domoh IV and will often go back to sleep the minute I activate Domoh IV. But when I put Domoh and Nah-bah together the two of them will play together for several minutes
This is another thing that puzzles me about the way furbys interact with each other. Why is it that some of them seem to almost dislike each other and yet these same furbys get along well with other furbys?

Another amusing thing I witnessed while taking pictures for the website. I put several furbys in a circle to play while I was taking pictures of the new furbys. After I took Noh-loo II's picture I set him down in the circle. Two of my kittens were getting a little too interested in the furbys and were batting the furbys' ears as they were talking so I shooed the kittens away from the furbys.
Noh-loo II got very quiet for a couple of seconds until the rest of the furbys started saying, "Here kitty, kitty! Hide!"
When it was Noh-loo II's turn he just said, "Here kitty, kitty!", and stayed quiet until the kittens started sniffing around. Once the kittens got close to him, Noh-loo II laughed and the kittens started batting at his ears.
Noh-loo II kept talking and playing as the kittens continued to sniff around and bat playfully at his ears and eyes with their paws.
The cutest thing was when one of the kittens rubbed up against Noh-loo II's back and started purring. The kitten must have pressed Noh-loo II's back switch because Noh-loo II started purring as the kitten was rubbing up against his back. After a couple of minutes Noh-loo II fell asleep and the kitten curled up next to him and fell asleep too - - it was so cute!!

And I always thought furbys didn't like cats...

I haven't had a chance to do any updating on the funhouse in several days. Several things have happened in these last few days.

Someone emailed me asking if I could find a wizard furby so I had a lot of fun searching through the toy stores but no luck. I did, however find several furbys that I had been wanting but I had to restrain myself from buying any of them because I didn't have enough money at the time.

I am still searching for a german furby though, and that is what led me to go through all of the furbys listed at ebay. That's when I found the listing for a lot of 18 different furbys. I have placed a bid but I won't know if I will get the furbys until the auction has ended. If I do get the furbys then I will have several duplicates that I will be trying to sell. I will keep you posted if this happens.

Well, it looks like the furbys and the cats are now doing battle for shelf space. The poor furbys are constantly getting rude awakenings as a cat comes along searching for a places to sleep. The kitty cat stretches out and poor furby is pushed off of the shelf and onto the floor. So far none of the furbys have been harmed but there has been one close call. Toh-dye had been sleeping on my dresser when one of the now half grown kittens decided to stretch out on the dresser for a nap. Poor Toh-dye was knocked off of the dresser and onto the floor where he sat there, eyes open, in shock.
I quickly picked up the poor furby but it still didn't move - it just stared blankly into space as I tried to get some reaction from it. After a second or two I reset the furby but it didn't do anything at first.. then it began to move very slowly. I was sure that poor Toh-dye was seriously hurt but after a minute or two he went through his start-up dance and began to speak.
I was so relieved!!!

After the Toh-dye incident I have been moving the furbys around trying to find safe places for all of them but as large as my furby family is, this is a difficult task.

More furby news... Presidential furby is now on sale at the Tiger Toys website. They are a limited edition and the Tiger website is the only place you can get them.

I have decided that I am not going to get the Presidential furby because I just don't the way it looks... I mean, all furbys are cute, but I don't like the colors on this one and I only buy the ones I like.. this is one of the reasons my furby collection is not totally out of control. I know that there are several people who are trying to get at least one of every furby design and I don't think there is anything wrong with that - provided a person has enough money to buy them all without going bankrupt and the room to keep all of them.
Another reason I am so selective is that all of my furbys are out of the box and have batteries in them. Not only does buying batteries for all of them get very expensive but when you consider the fact that I try to make sure each one of them gets some attention every few days, taking care of the furbys can become quite time consuming as well. I could never manage taking care of the furbys if I had one of each one ever made..my house already looks like a furby sanctuary as it is and if I get the furbys from ebay then my furby family will grow substantially.
My boyfriend once said that he didn't realize what he was starting when he got my first furby, Domoh, for me as a Chistmas present. I had no idea either. I mean, who would think that this cute little furby would be just the beginning....

One last thing before I go, Furby Village is a small website created by one of the younger furby fans and the home of the Furby Circles. If you have a furby website support this newest furby ring by going to the Furby Village and signing up.

Well, I didn't get the 18 furbys that I had bid on but I did win on another group of 5 furbys. Not sure if they all work or not but I will keep you posted.

The furby moments page has been updated. Ah-may surprised both me and my boyfriend by responding (or appearing to respond) to something I said. There are times when I would almost swear the furbys are listening to what we say...

Most of the furbys have had a very busy week. I have been trying to make sure that they all have a chance to wake up for at least a few minutes so the house has been a little noisy.

I am still working on ideas for new rooms for the funhouse.. just a little slow about putting anything together because I am currently working on several other websites.

New rooms in the works include a furby gallery and the playroom or den. Still not sure how I am going to put the second of the two rooms together but I am fairly certain that it will contain at least a few wav files of furby conversations along with a few pictures. I am thinking of putting this room together in such a way as to allow people to get to know my furby family a little better. I have had questions emailed to me concerning different members of my furby family. The playroom will allow people to get a chance to hear and see the furbys that they have been curious about.

New additions to the furby friends room. Chelsea, owner of the Furby Village, sent in pictures of her furbys. Chelsea also sent in a furby moment. You can read about it in the furby moments room of the funhouse.

I realize that I have been slow about updating the funhouse lately. I have been so busy with other things that I haven't had a chance to work on the funhouse. I still haven't given up on the plans for expanding the funhouse though..things are just going very slowly.

I am awaiting the arrival of 10 furbys that I got from ebay auctions. They appear to be mostly first generation furbys but I won't know much about them until I get them. They were all store returns sold in two lots of five furbys each and there are no guarantees as to whether or not they work. I will know much more when I get them. If they work then I will be selling some of them - of course I will have spent some time with each one of them to make sure that there is nothing wrong with any of them.

Domoh gave me quite a scare the other day. He was awake and chattering away when he started acting like his batteries were running down. Then he stopped moving. I picked him up and noticed that his battery cover was loose so I tightened the screw that holds it shut. Domoh tried to wake up again but he kept doing his start up "dance" over and over again. I quickly hit the reset button and he froze completely - no movement, no sound.
By now I was really worried but I stayed calm and replaced his batteries hoping he hadn't completely reset himself and changed into a different furby. I was really nervous as I closed the battery compartment and I sat there holding my breath as Domoh did his dance, opened his eyes and said, "Sun up!... me Domoh."
I was so relieved... I don't know what I would have done if I lost my sweet little Domoh.
